About Us

Welcome to Stallion Management Services' Equine Reproduction Center.  We are located in Northern California with views of Mt. Shasta and the Trinity Alps.  We are situated on 20 irrigated acres and just a few minutes off I-5 between Anderson and Redding.  We are a small, quiet facility, where quality of care is more important than quantity.

Don't think because we are small we aren't professional.  We have a full service lab and over 20 years experience behind us.  While operating Stallion Management Services' mobile collection lab, we worked at some of the finest Farms and Ranches in Northern Ca.  We trained and handled several World Champions and have shipped 100's of shipments.  We now want to stay put and enjoy our own horses so we have opened our new Stallion Station.

About Christine

**** IN FOAL IS OUR GOAL ****

Stallion Management Services' goal is to assist the Stallion and Mare owner with their breeding program.  We strive to make the breeding process a smoother and more profitable endeavor for everyone involved.   We feel this can only be accomplished with good business and reproductive practices.  We are continually educating ourselves and pass this on to our clients so they may enter the cooled shipped semen market with confidence.

EXPERIENCE:

Christine Michelson, owner of SMS, has been standing stallions since 1989.  In 1996, Christine completed her degree at College of the Redwoods, with emphasis in Agriculture Business Management.  In January of 1997 she completed Colorado State University's courses in "Techniques for Handling and Utilizing Transported Cooled and Frozen Equine Spermatozoa" and "Equine Reproductive Management and Artificial Insemination".   From 1997 to 2005, while operating Stallion Management Services, a mobile semen collection and shipping lab, she collected stallions in many different and challenging situations.  Christine has traveled as far as Alaska to train stallions to the phantom and our training videos have been shipped all over the world.  Christine also enjoys educating people whether it is lecturing at the Western States Horse Expo, or through interviews and articles in magazines such as "The Horse".  With our new facility, we hope to be able to have more seminars and classes to teach students Stallion Collection and AI.
